Founded in 1958, the Storybook Gardens makes you feel like you are walking into a fairytale. This outdoor park features every young kid could wish for, from a Ferris wheel to a pirate-themed playground, a castle, and an enchanted garden. Statues and drawings of magical characters, like the Frog Prince and Humpty Dumpty, can be found throughout the park.
This 20 acres area is an iconic family center park and has been considered a cherished family favorite destination since its opening in 1958. Storybook Gardens offers an enchanted storybook environment for kids themed around storybooks, nursery rhymes, and fairy tales.
During summer, the Storybook Gardens feature several outdoor play structures, amusement rides, a sand and water play area, a big splash pad, scheduled events, and performances at the outdoor stage for the entire family to enjoy. At the same time, costumed mascots and characters roam the park to delight and surprise young visitors. Storybook Gardens is located in the middle of the iconic Springbank Park, is open year-round, and offers winter skating opportunities on the fabulous outdoor skating trail.
Some of the park’s experiences include access to the jumping pillow, Gnorbert’s Garden, Pirate’s Isnald, Miniature Play Village, Hands in the Sand Play, and On the Riverbank Splash Pad. The park is fully outdoors, so attractions may be closed during inclement weather.
