New Year’s Eve Picks
Bid farewell to 2017 at Victoria Park with a children’s act at 8 p.m., children’s fireworks at 9 p.m. and headliners for adults until the final fireworks show at midnight. Music, laughter and fun is at the heart of this free event that’s fit for all. Whether you’re traveling with little ones and want to head out after the 9 p.m. spectacular or party all the way until 2018, it’s the perfect option for family-friendly celebrations.
The Family New Year’s Countdown at the Children’s Museum is another popular pick. The red carpet event includes a balloon drop, countdown and all the fun of ringing in 2018 as a family—without keeping the kids out until midnight. The morning celebration is from 10 – noon and the afternoon party is 1 – 3 p.m., so you can choose which party best suits your family.
Fun for the 21+ Crowd
The Red, White and New Year’s Bash is one of the biggest parties in London. The Canadian-inspired cuisine and celebration of Canada’s 151 years supporting the Ronald McDonald House is a gala event where you’re encouraged to wine and dine until 2018. It’s held at the London Convention Center and is known for the sprawling 150-foot bar. Some tickets may be available at the door, but reserve yours early if you can.
Dinner and horse racing at the Top of the Fair Restaurant is a New Year’s tradition for many. Known for being the “raciest” party in town, kick back for an evening of adrenaline and betting with your friends and family. Harness racing and a buffet dinner is included.
