Visit Eldon House
Built in 1834, the historic Eldon House is a landmark in Ontario. Although the home is currently undergoing renovation, it is still open for tours during minor construction, so visitors can get a sneak peek at what’s to come. The gorgeous estate has been largely untouched, save for maintenance, and boasts the title of London’s oldest residence. Here, you’ll find heirlooms, original furniture, and keepsakes from the Harris Family.
Located in downtown London, serious preservation efforts began in the 1960s when Eldon House was donated to the city. Previously, it housed four generations of Harris’ and is the epitome of Georgian and Regency architecture. Surrounding Eldon House are glorious gardens, considered by many as the most stunning in London.
